For over 15 years, St. Patrick Parish has been blessed to have Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration due to the commitment of parishioners and other worshipers from surrounding parishes. However, there is now a need for additional persons in order to provide necessary coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please consider signing up for a half hour or an hour of Adoration. Sign up with a friend for the same hour and alternate each week for the hour. Please contact Shirley & Ed Milch at 508-653-2941. Experience The Real Presence of Our Lord and enrich your relationship with Him in the Holy Eucharist.

HOW DO I RECOGNIZE THE CALL?

We are looking for a few good men on a Mission…God's Mission. Have you ever considered a life of service as a missionary beyond our borders? Are you between the ages of 18 and 30? Have you been part of a Service Week to the poor and wanted more. The first in a series of monthly days of information, discernment and prayer will be held at the Xaverian Missionaries at Fatima Shrine, 101 Summer Street in Holliston on Sat., Feb. 11 from 10 am to 7 pm. The Xaverians work in 20 countries worldwide, with a priority to countries of Africa and Asia. This month's theme will be: How do I recognize the Call? What does it take? For more information and to reserve a space, contact Fr. Rocco at frrocco@xaviermissionaries or call 508-429-2144.

PASTORAL PLANNING 2012

A new structure for ministering to the faithful is being proposed that will affect all parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston. After ten months of planning and discussion, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Planning Commission (APPC) has begun a three-phase consultation process with clergy, religious and lay ecclesial ministers. This 18 member Cardinal-appointed Commission has been tasked with designing a Pastoral Plan "to form stronger Christian disciples by strengthening our identity as a Christ-centered, mission-minded, welcoming and evangelizing Eucharistic community of faith."

There are five "Mission Initiatives" each parish will use to accomplish this goal:

1. Becoming a Church that More Readily and Actively Welcomes Every Man, Woman and Child to conversion of Life in Christ Jesus;

2. Strengthening our Parishes as Primary Communities of Faith;

3. Growing the Church through Evangelization;

4. Developing Excellence in Faith Formation for Catholics of All Ages;

5. Re-energizing Pastoral Leadership.

Phase One and Phase Two of these consultations took place in January and focused on the second initiative - strengthening parishes. This proposed new structure will group parishes according to criteria into Pastoral Collaboratives of one, two, three or four parishes. Pastoral services will be provided by a Pastoral Service Team (PST), made up of clergy and laity who will work together to advance the mission of evangelization.

The 290 parishes currently in the Archdiocese will be grouped to form 127 Pastoral Collaboratives and Pastoral Service Teams. We were told this past Monday that our proposed grouping would be with St. Patrick's in downtown Natick.

The third phase of consultations for our region is scheduled for March 15th from 7-9PM at St. Edward's in Medfield. This third phase will seek advice and comments to these proposals from members of the St. Linus Parish Pastoral Council and Finance Council as well as other members of these committees from other parishes in the area. Members from the PPC and Finance Council will address the parish with more information regarding the Planning Process after the Phase Three meeting.

Please note that the Archdiocese has stressed that these are proposals and the consultation process is meant to be a way for voices, opinions and criticisms both positive and negative to be heard. All are invited to access documents and informational material at the Parish Planning Website at www.planning2012.com.
