Our Food for the Hungry Collection is next weekend. Please leave your contributions at the doors of the Church.
2010 CATHOLIC APPEAL
Next weekend, March 6-7, will be Catholic Appeal Weekend here at Saint Linus. As a Catholic community, we are called during this season of Lent to love and share our blessings with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We do so by continuing to participate as fully as we are able in the building up of His kingdom. This month, Cardinal Seán is asking every Catholic household to participate in the 2010 Catholic Appeal, which funds the many central ministries and services of the Archdiocese of Boston. The Appeal is to our Archdiocese what the weekly offertory is to our parish - so your participation and support are critical. Because of the economic downturn, support of the Catholic Appeal is even more urgent this year. On Appeal Weekend, we will be showing a video message from Cardinal Seán and asking every Catholic household to make a pledge.
PARISH PAY
In an effort to make it more convenient for parishioners to financially support Saint Linus Parish, we now offer you the ability to make your offertory contributions electronically. You now have the option to simply have a predetermined monthly amount withdrawn from your checking or savings account that will be automatically deposited into the Parish Offertory. If you are interested visit www.parishpay.com, pick up an Enrollment Form at the tables or if you would like additional information, please call Jane at the rectory at 508-653-5505. Thank you!
Join us for coffee every Sunday after the 9 AM Mass in the lower church hall. All are welcome!
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
All classes will meet as scheduled Sunday - Tuesday,
February 28 - March 2.
FIRST RECONCILIATION
Gade 2 students will receive the Sacrament of First Reconciliation on Sat., March 6. We ask everyone to pray for these young people and their families.
PARISH OUTREACH PROGRAM
Our Parish Outreach Program continues its weekday coffees. Come and join us for coffee and goodies on Friday, March 5 after the 9 am Mass in the lower church. Everyone is welcome to come and share their ideas for an even better Saint Linus Parish or just come for coffee and goodies. We would love to see you there.
OPERATION RICE BOWL
As part of our faith community's Lenten observance, we will participate in Catholic Relief Services' Lenten program, Operation Rice Bowl. Since 1975, Operation Rice Bowl has inspired Catholics in the United States to pray, fast, learn and give as we increase our understanding of our global community. We will connect this understanding with the principles of Catholic Social Teaching throughout our Lenten journey. We encourage you to participate at home with your family and loved ones.
The Light is On For You
On all the Wednesday's of Lent from 6:30-8:00pm
Saint Linus and all the parishes and chapels of the Archdiocese of Boston will be open for individual confessions. Inviting Catholics to experience Christ's healing love through the Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the major initiatives of Cardinal Seán and the Archdiocese this year. The Archdiocese has set up a website, www.TheLightIsOnForYou.org, to help you prepare. It has videos on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, sheets on how to make a good confession, answers to frequently-asked questions and more. Please make plans to come on Lenten Wednesdays and spread the word of this special outreach of mercy to those you know.
